Alex Skvarch enters his sixth season as the men’s lacrosse head coach after serving as an assistant coach for the program in 2014.
The Cavaliers made their first G-MAC postseason appearance in the 2019 season. In 2017, he guided the Cavaliers to their first GLIAC postseason appearance in program history and a win over nationally ranked No. 10 Lindenwood.
Skvarch previously served as the defensive coordinator at the Hartwick College. While at Hartwick College, Skvarch coached two USILA North/South game participants, four Empire 8 All-League players, and one Academic All-American. In 2016, he coached six ECAC All-Rookie Team selections and two ECAC Defensive Player of the Week selections.
Skvarch also played lacrosse at Hartwick and was a two-year captain, selected to the Empire 8 Second Team in 2011, and ended his four-year career with 153 groundballs and 98 caused turnovers in 51 games. Skvarch was selected to the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year Team and was named the team’s Defensive MVP in 2011.
