Alexander (Sasha) Didden
Recruit Profile
A 110% hard working Lacrosse athlete and a coachable team leader who believes in doing the right thing on and off the field.
I'm a Russian adoptee that became a US citizen when I came to America at the age of 4. Since then, I have participated in many athletic activities, leading up to my introduction to Lacrosse in fourth grade. After two seasons, I gave up all other sports to focus on a defensive Lacrosse position on my towns rec team. To try something different in the off season, I landed a defensive spot on a Box Lacrosse team in 8th grade and Freshman year, (Team 295), and gained a completely new perspective of the game. Also as a Freshman, I earned a position on the New Jersey Lacrosse Club team and have been able to play continuously for them through today as primarily a Close Defender, but have played LSM and D-Midi when the team needs me. During the primary season, I play for Shawnee HS in Medford NJ as a Close Defender.
I feel I have learned the game of Lacrosse in a very unique way due to my ADHD and Central Auditory Processing (CAPD) diagnoses. While I'm very coachable, on the field sometimes I may struggle to take audio cues. As a result, I've found that I developed a keen sense of my role through anticipating offensive plays, as well as reading my coach's instructions based on visual cues. I'm comfortable sliding and playing both sides of the field.
When I'm not playing Lacrosse, I participate on Shawnee's Cross Country team in the Fall and have been participating in Martial Arts year round since the age of 5 and earned my 2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. I also give back to the local community by building confidence in younger kids through teaching them Karate in my spare time.
Putting my love of sports and investigative research together, I'm hoping to advance into a career as a Physical Therapist and/or Sports Trainer. Understanding how the mind of a child with ADHD and CAPD work, I would like to focus on pediatric PT and training.

I had the chance to coach Sasha this past summer and he was one of our hardest workers and most coachable kids on the team. Any college will be lucky to have him.
