Alexandra Yates
Recruit Profile
Team player, very coachable, multi-sport athlete, well rounded student, active in extra-curricular activities, focused on academics
I have had a lacrosse stick in my hand since second grade when I began playing for my local recreation club team. I joined T3 in fifth grade on the 2020 North Black Team and am still a member of this team. I was moved to defense early on in my lacrosse career because my coach said "You are one of the only players that knows what to do and I only put my stronger players on defense"...I embraced it as I just wanted to be on the field. I am confident in my double teams as well as 1v1. I have a strong sense of the field and am confident in my decision making. I have been a starting player on my varsity team in my Freshman and Sophmore years. I also have been a starting player on my high school's varsity soccer team all three years.
Academically, I transferred to Gill St. Bernard's as a Freshman and have challenged myself with increased rigor in my courses. I am currently taking AP History, AP Biology, Honors Spanish and Honors Trig. I volunteer supporting animals through an extracurricular group at school as well at soup kitchens through my church. I am a member of Model U.N. and read to lower school students through the reading buddies program at school. I also snowboard and am member of ski club.
I enjoy playing video games of all kinds, collect comic books. I started a fantasy football league this year as the commissioner with friends because I love football. I am also a certified youth lacrosse referee which gives me a different perspective of the game which has been helpful in my play on the field.
