Aly Dowey joined Iona College's staff prior to the 2020 season. Previously she was the Defensive Coordinator for Wales Lacrosse. She was defender and captain at Bates College ('15).

Prior to Iona, Dowey had been a defensive coordinator and first assistant for the Wales National Team. Wales placed third last year at the European Championships and beat Israel for the first time in Wales program history.

Dowey served as the head coach for Blair Academy (NJ) for three seasons. During her time there she had players that went on to play at Navy, George Mason, Gettysburg, F&M, and more. At Blair she also worked with admissions.

She has also coached for Landsharks Lacrosse Club, 802 Lacrosse Club, and Prime Time Lacrosse.

During her playing days Dowey was a four-year starting defender and senior captain at Bates College. She received her Bachelors in Chemistry from Bates in 2015 and a Masters in Food Science from the University of Leeds in 2019.
