Alyeska Yee-Jenkins
Recruit Profile
I love pushing myself and rising to challenges. Speed, quickness, relentless hustle, tenacity, advanced stick skills, and high lax IQ define my game. I am also very coachable and unselfish.
I have been playing lacrosse since second grade, and I love the game now more than ever. This shines through in the enthusiasm and commitment I bring to training, to practice, and to each game. I dig deep, push myself, and rise to meet every challenge. That drive to succeed is not just about me, it is about my teammates who have helped me to be the player and person I am today and us achieving success together.
On the field, speed, quickness, relentless hustle, tenacity, advanced stick skills, and a high lax IQ characterize my game. As a midfielder, I make sure that I am equally effective in all phases of the game, offense, defense, draw, and transition. I constantly press the attack on offense, and even though I am quick to exploit one v. one opportunities, I am just as eager and quick to recognize an open teammate and feed them the ball.
These characteristics come through in my stats as well. Since third grade, I have consistently been a team stat leader in goals, assists, draw controls, ground balls, and caused turnovers. Last spring I made my high school varsity team as a freshman. I started and took the draw in each of the two games we played before the season was cancelled. This year, as a sophomore, I have been named a team captain. For the past two years I have been selected to attend the Under Armour 150. For the past three years I have been selected by the WPLL / AU Futures program to represent my region. In 2019, I was selected for and attended the U.S. Lacrosse NTDP Combine.
As for my studies, I have always been a straight A student and currently have a 4.28 GPA while taking AP and Honors courses. In both years of middle school I made the Honor Roll and was first chair violin in the school chamber orchestra.
Outside of school, I love the outdoors, especially national parks like Glacier and Acadia. I enjoy hiking, mountain climbing, wildlife photography, and snorkeling. At home, when I'm not in the front yard practicing lacrosse, I enjoy reading books, playing the violin, and spending lots of quality time with my dog, a 10 month old miniature schnauzer named Jasper.
