Amanda Charness
Recruit Profile
I am passionate, dedicated, hard working, and fierce. I am incredible coachable and am an amazing teammate (encouraging and supportive to everyone on my team).
I picked up a lacrosse stick at 14, and was set to play on my High Schol team as a freshman before Covid hit. I joined the Summit Lacrosse club in May 2020 and am playing for that club in 2020-2021. While I am a little later to lacrosse, I have been playing year round club and high school basketball since 5th grade (10 years old). I switched my focus to Lacrosse and found it to be a smooth adjustment. There are a lot of similarities between basketball and lacrosse (the way you defend, the plays you run, etc). Defense was always my specialty for basketball and that is why I predominately play defense in lacrosse (with some Midi). I was given an opportunity with a Summit for as much as my athleticism as lacrosse skills. I joined my high school cross country team this fall (fall 2020) because of the delays in lacrosse and basketball, and ran every meet on Varsity (I can run approximately a 6-minute mile at my fastest). I am passionate about sports and my goal is to absolutely play lacrosse in college. I am a 4.0 student taking honors English in 9th and 10th grade). I also play the Guitar and Cello and have since I was 7 and 10). I am a member of the Tri State Denver Buddhist Temple and am very active in the YBA (Youth Buddhist Association). In the YBA we do a ton of community service and volunteering. I have a huge family and am very team and family oriented. I am passionate and as hard a worker as you will ever meet. I know that given my personality and work ethic that I will be an exceptional part of any college program.
