As a player for Sacred Heart William's started all 20 games, was named the 2008 NEC Tournament MVP after leading the Pioneers to the league title, and scored six goals with three assists in the tournament including the game-winner with three seconds left in the championship game against Quinnipiac. Williams also led the team in goals scored with 45 and was second with 56 total points, finished the year sixth in the NEC in goals per game and tied for the league lead with four game-winners and was named to the All-NEC second team.
