Ava Sigrist
Recruit Profile
Field General, coachable, disciplined, fast, aggressive, multi-sport Varsity athlete, strong LAX IQ, strong, team player.
I have been involved in sports my whole life. Lacrosse has always been my passion ever since I picked up a stick. Lacrosse brings me out of my comfort zone and makes me motivated to get 1% better each day in both academics and sports. I began playing lacrosse in 5th grade and fell in love with it throughout the years. After playing recreational lacrosse, I joined T3 (Jersey Shore Select.) People consider me a very hardworking and dedicated person/ athlete. I take my athleticism very seriously. Each day I work so hard because I want to accomplish my goal of playing lacrosse in college. I lift, work on footwork, agility, stick work, lacrosse IQ and do drills related to game-like situations that all make me a stronger, well balanced player. I balance school and lacrosse equally. As a freshman, I made High Honor Roll each marking period. This year, I was named captain of my High School Lacrosse Team as a Sophomore. I work hard in school and take it seriously because I know that it is the #1 contributor to playing at the next level. I participate in Peer Leadership Club, Bottle Cappers ( which is a mentor group that teaches others about anti- peer pressure) and Key Club. This year, I also had 70+ hours of community service. I helped assist lacrosse for my old recreational programs season, volunteered at the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, Middletown Day, helped bag food for people in need and I volunteered at the Red Bank Crop Walk. With lacrosse, I have always played Midfield, but I am willing to play anywhere I am needed. I am comfortable with accurately assisting, shooting, playing strong defense, taking the draw, communicating, using both hands, dodging and being quick on the field. I love to set people up on the field. As a Freshman, I was the only player to make Varsity Field Hockey. I am a starter on the team. I also made Varsity Lacrosse and started every single game. I was the leader in draw controls on my team, and was the Freshman with the most goals. I made The Top 75 Freshman In NJ Girls Lacrosse and came in 7th out of 75 girls, which I am really proud of. As a current sophomore, I cannot wait to see what I will accomplish this year. "Trust the process."
