Class of 2022' / All County HM / Midfielder / 47 points this season , a raw, coachable player , team first, determined to UP my game at every practice
I set 2 goals for myself in 9th grade, to try my best in every sport I play and to have fun doing it. Im happy to say that my hard work paid off and this year I earned All County HM in lacrosse, made it to the Top Scoring Leaders in Long Island twice, & had a blast doing it. I am an athlete by nature, I started playing 3 sports when I was only 8 years old, I did them all for fun until my 6th grade basketball team won the championship. After this I realized I was super competitive and really liked winning!! I made the varsity lacrosse team in 9th grade and was pulled up for playoffs in 8th . I played JV Soccer and Basketball then made both varsity teams in 10th grade. I have been a starter on varsity soccer for 2 years and made All Class in my Conference this year. We had a pause on sports for 2 seasons during Covid and it was torture. When we got the ok to go back to sports, I made sure I went to the "wall" at my school after every soccer practice to throw the ball in preparation for lacrosse which was starting right after soccer. This has been my best season so far in lacrosse with 47 total points and I hope I can continue to play in college. One of my best games this season was in the playoffs against the 6th seed team Lynbrook, although we lost, I scored 6 of the 11 goals and had 2 assists. I will be competing in many tournaments over the summer with my travel lacrosse team ( Empire Lacrosse) Any school that recruits me will be getting an athlete that gives it 110% every time. I stay after practice most days to work on my stick skills and I make sure to rally my team before every game. Playing team sports sets you up for life and teaches you skills to be successful. I can't wait to play on the college level! I am a member of the Honor Society and made High Honor Roll this year. I am taking AP History, AP English , Pre-Calculus, Advanced Chemistry and College Writing. I work part time as a ref for soccer and at the food stand at my town pool. I also volunteer at my church as part of the Mercy Workers, preparing boxes of food for needy families, as well as serving as a volunteer Camp counselor at Anchor Camp, a summer camp for special needs kids. I plan on studying nursing in college and hope to be a member of my college's Lacrosse team in 2022!

There aren’t enough words I could say about Avery in regards to her as not only an athlete but also a person. I can honestly say she was one of the hardest working girls on my team this past season. She gives it her all every single day, whether in practice or a game. She never missed one practice all season. Ive had Avery since she was in 9th grade, unfortunately due to COVID we obviously didn’t have a season last year but I was in contact with Averys mom a few times during last spring because Avery was really sad and struggling with us not being able to play. However she used that time (and it was evident this season) to work on her individual skills. She improved tremendously in the offseason, and that was all due to the time she put in on her own. It all paid off as she was awarded All County this season from Nassau County. She is a beast in the midfield....She’s on the circle for the draws and honestly controls our transition. She goes back on defense and up on attack EVERY play-she never stops running! She’s truly a coaches dream!
