Braelyn Brown
Recruit Profile
Coachable team player with high work ethic; intense multi-sport athlete with strong Lax IQ and excellent field awareness; disciplined, determined, and aggressive with smart instincts; high character and natural leader.
I started playing lacrosse in 4th grade and club lacrosse in 8th grade. From the start, I have always been one of the lead scorers, assister, and took the draw. I quickly fell in love with the sport and my passion has never stopped. I was taught young that assists are more valuable than scoring yourself, and teamwork is what makes the game fun. One thing my coach always said was "Sometimes you have to be the bridesmaid, not the bride" and that has always stuck with me.
I played basketball for three years which has tremendously improved my defense for lacrosse. Along with basketball, I ran track and cross country which has improved my stamina. On my 2020 fall evaluation, directly quoted from my GRIT coaches, "You have a tremendous amount of athleticism and stamina...you never seem to be tired on Midfield." My coaches also pointed out my strong Work Ethic and Field Sense/IQ. I can read the field with a big capacity and strive to work smarter on the field for me and my teammates.
I am an incredibly fast learner, very coachable, and at whatever point I am instructed a play, a skill, or an alteration, I keep working on it until I perfect it to my coaches' expectations. I have a really big personality and love making new friends. Last fall I transitioned to GRIT Dallas from GRIT Houston, and I am now a part of a team with a new group of girls whom I have grown close with on and off the field in only a few short months. I am an extremely versatile player and I am very certain no matter what team I am on or position I play, I will positively impact my teammates, coaches, and the game. In addition to GRIT, I am a Varsity player on my high school team, Cy-Fair Iron Maidens. I also attend Athlete Training + Health Performance Facility where I train with high school athletes and work on linear speed, multi direction, and strength training.
I work with some of the best coaches and trainers who prepare me and measure my potential. I am very committed to this sport and am working my hardest to be the best version of myself on and off the field. As an "A" student, I take all Honors classes and also volunteer as a member of National Charity League, Inc.
