Brandon Shevins
Recruit Profile
I am a very coachable player, disciplined and determined to help myself and others get better.
As many goalie stories go, at first, I was a middie in grade school because I was fast and athletic but switched to goalie two years later because my team needed a better goalie. Once I started playing goal, there was no turning back. I love the competition and love the responsibility. My biggest strength is my understanding of the game and being a field general out there. Usually, by the end of a game, I have no more voice. I am proud that, when I am directing the defense, the other team usually has fewer scoring opportunities. I am grateful to all of my coaches for teaching me technique and knowledge of the game. I feel especially lucky to have good goalie coaches who also teach me how to rebound from giving up a bad goal and having a bad game.
Although playing goalie is often physical, I have missed some of the hitting. I joined the football team in 2017. I am sure that the football practices have improved my athleticism and will make me a better goalie as well.
When I am not playing sports, I am usually hanging out with friends and listening to music. I attend the Livingston, NJ school system and it is plenty tough. It is so important to find the right balance between sports, school and life. I hope to keep getting better in everything I do.
