Brian Loughlin heads into his first season as an assistant coach with the Saint Michael's men's lacrosse team during the 2020-21 school year.

The first three-year captain in program history, Loughlin graduated with a program-record 86 career assists while standing second in points (162), just 11 behind the leader. The attackman is also 14th in goals (76). After missing his senior year due to injury, he returned in 2019 for a redshirt season. Loughlin is pursuing a master's degree from the College in education with a concentration in curriculum. As an undergraduate, he earned bachelor's degrees in elementary education and Spanish.

Loughlin landed on the Northeast-10 Conference All-Rookie Team in 2015, was a seven-time qualifier for the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, and earned New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Academic All-New England as a senior.

Loughlin has been an elementary school teacher at North Hero School since 2019.
