Briana Sweeney '18 returns to her alma mater for her first year as an assistant coach with the Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team in 2020-21.

A four-year letterwinner with the Ravens (student-athlete bio), Sweeney returns to Rindge to make her collegiate coaching debut. She put together a decorated career on the field for the Ravens, as she piled up 214 points, on 165 goals and 49 assists. Sweeney appeared in 61 of the 62 games Franklin Pierce played over the course of her career, and made 58 starts along the way as well. A two-time 60-point scorer, she tallied 63 points in both her sophomore (41-22-63) and junior (54-9-63) campaigns. In her sophomore season, the output was good enough to earn Sweeney All-North Region Second Team accolades from the IWLCA and All-Northeast-10 Conference Second Team honors as well. She remains in the top-five all-time in program history in goals, assists, points and caused turnovers (64).

Originally from Shirley, N.Y., Sweeney is a 2018 graduate of Franklin Pierce, with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is the twin sister of head coach Caitlin Sweeney '18 (bio).
