Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College

Bridget Walker is entering her third year as the Battling Bishops' head women's lacrosse coach.

During the 2019 season, the Lady Bishops set school records in overall wins, conference wins, and win streaks while having two women named to the all-conference team.

Prior to joining the Bishops, Walker spent several years managing and coaching lacrosse teams in the Triangle area, beginning with a four-year stint as the program director for Youth Lacrosse Systems in Holly Springs. Additionally, she logged three years as head coach at Holly Springs High School, while most recently, she established the lacrosse program and served as head coach at St. David's School. The 2014 Southwest Wake Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, she has also worked with the Carolina Flight Travel Club since 2013.

A 2007 graduate of Methodist University, Walker was a three-year letter winner for the Monarchs and was a USA South Academic All-Conference performer. She also competed in post-college level lacrosse with the Carolina Heat.

"We are excited to continue to find athletes who want to join our up-and-coming program," she stated. "Lacrosse is the fastest growing youth sport in our country, and I know there are athletes looking for a place to call home. I am excited to build on our success last season with our win streak and school records in wins. We are looking to take the next step and challenge for a USA South title in the coming years."

Walker continued, "My coaching philosophy is based on lacrosse as family. I enjoy helping young women develop not only as athletes, but more importantly as citizens in their community."

A native of Columbia, Md., Walker is a US Lacrosse Level 1 Certified Coach and serves as board member with the NC Chapter of US Lacrosse. She currently resides in Youngsville with her husband Thomas, who is a PGA Golf Professional, and their son, George.
