Profile
Caitlin Fitzpatrick completed her first season as a member of the coaching staff for the women’s lacrosse team in 2020.

Despite having her first season cut short due to the COVID-19 virus, Fitzpatrick helped grow goalkeeper Hailey Duchnowski into one of the top net protectors in the country. Duchnowski ranked fourth in the nation in saves per game during the 2020 season, tallying 12.33 stops per contest.

Prior to joining the Sharks, Fitzpatrick worked at T3 Lacrosse Club.

Fitzpatrick served as Assistant Coach of the Colgate women’s lacrosse team from 2014-2017. In her three seasons with the program, Fitzpatrick played a key role in the growth of the Raiders program. The 2015 campaign saw Colgate post double-digit wins for the first time since the 2009 campaign with a 10-6 overall mark. The Raiders also turned in their best Patriot League mark in four seasons with a 6-2 League record.

Goalkeeper Jennie Berglin flourished in her final two seasons under Fitzpatrick’s tutelage, culminating with a 2015 campaign that saw her earn All-Patriot League First-Team honors after ranking among both the conference and national leaders in save percentage (.483), total saves (116), saves per game (7.73), goals against average (8.33) and ground balls per game (2.20).

Including Berglin, a total of five players have earned eight All-League honors during Fitzpatrick’s two seasons with the Raiders, highlighted by six First-Team All-Patriot League selections.

Fitzpatrick joined the Raiders coaching staff after spending two seasons at her alma mater, Adelphi University, as an assistant coach. The Panthers made the Division II NCAA Tournament with Fitzpatrick on staff and defeated Le Moyne to advance in the tournament. Adelphi had multiple players earn All-Conference, All-Region and All-American accolades during her two seasons with the program, including four players receiving All-American distinction. The Panthers also excelled in the classroom, earning the Northeast-10 Conference Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2011-12 season.

Prior to her return to Adelphi, Fitzpatrick began her coaching career at Bridgewater State University (Mass.). She helped the Bears go undefeated in league play to win the NEWLA title and qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
