Caitlin Petrellese
Recruit Profile
Coachable, driven, strong lax IQ, solid right and left hand and focused on the field and in the classroom; always giving 110%.
I joined my first lacrosse team at the age of 11, in 5th grade. A late beginner, I worked twice as hard to get where I am today; playing midfield and defense for Mad Dogs North NJ (#49) Lacrosse and a starting attacker for my high school varsity team as a freshman(#18) and selected to play on Maddog's 2020 National Team (#13). I am comfortable switching between both of my hands and what I enjoy the most, is causing turnovers. Through checking and pressure I am able to use my speed to take advantage of the fast break.
When it comes to my academics, other than lacrosse, there is nothing I take more seriously. In my Freshman year my biggest academic accomplishment would have to have been representing Rockland County in the National History Day competition for my exhibit on the Japanese-American Internment. Additionally, In my Freshman and received Principal's Honor Roll all four quarters as a result of obtaining a quarterly average of 95 and above. Due to my 4.0 GPA I was awarded with Academic Excellence and was recognized as the top of my class for biology as well as interior design. Finally, I won first place for my entry to the Holocaust Museum of Rockland County; a story based off Schindlers List.
My Sophomore year I took honors English, 11th grade Chemistry, AP U.S. History, Geometry and Spanish 3. I have also been selected to participate in the, A World of Difference with ADL, a group that spreads awareness about discrimination in our community and have been inducted into the World Language Honors Societies.
In my Junior year I am enrolled in; AP Biology, AP Government, AP Microeconomics, Honors English, Latin, Algebra 2, Public Speaking and Social Psychology. This year I am on track to be inducted into the Social Studies and National Honors Societies.
Even though playing lacrosse and school take up most of my time, I find it important and rewarding to volunteer at my parish, with younger girls learning to play lacrosse locally and at Meals on Wheels.
