Caroline (CJ) Holder was named as the third head coach in the history of the Augustana women’s lacrosse program in July of 2016.

Holder took over the Vikings after a two-year stint at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana where she was charged with starting the Panthers program from scratch. She was hired at Hanover in June of 2013 and the Panthers began varsity competition in the 2014-15 school year.

Holder also has served as the head coach of the Indy United Lacrosse Club in Indianapolis since June of 2014. She got her start in coaching as a graduate assistant at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland where she worked from August of 2011 until landing the Hanover job in June of 2013.

“I would like to thank Lynn Hall, the director of athletics at Hanover and Kathy Railey, the head coach at Stevenson University for being instrumental in jump-starting my coaching career,” said Holder upon her Augustana hiring.

A four-year standout at NCAA Division I University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Holder earned all-conference honors before graduating in 2011 with a degree in biological studies. While she was a player she helped the Retrievers make back-to-back appearances in the American East Conference finals.

In her brief stint at Hanover, Holder coached four all-conference performers and was instrumental in establishing the NCAA Division III Ohio River Lacrosse Conference. She also serves as a representative for the regional All-America selection committee for the NCAA Division III’s Great Lakes Region.
