Carter Grubbs
Recruit Profile
Strong lax IQ, aggressive close-D, team player, unselfish, coachable, multi-sport athlete (lacrosse/basketball)
Inside Lacrosse Eval, Nov. 2020 (86/100):
"Grubbs is a long and strong defender. His size gives him good reach, but he is still strong enough to drive attackmen off their path and stop them from getting upfield on him. Grubbs' athleticism allows him to guard his man outside the box and move his feet to stay in their gloves. Does a good job of leading with a poke without getting out of position. Off-ball, he seemed to quarterback his team's defense and communicate a good amount.
Grubbs is a great athlete with good fundamentals. Rarely is he out of position or in trouble on-ball. He is physical and aggressive without being out of control."
Played lacrosse since I was 7. Varsity lax at CHHS as a freshman. North Carolina 2019 State Championship Runner-up. Multi-sport athlete (lacrosse and basketball). Straight A student, all honors and 5 APs (AP World History, APES, AP Human Geo, AP Lang, AP Calc AB) through junior year. I am a volunteer assistant coach for a local rec lacrosse league and have worked as a lax referee in the summer.

Carter is a great on ball defender as well as off ball. His ability to communicate with teammates and lead the defense with slide recognition makes him a well rounded defenseman. Great stickwork, first pass ground balls and footwork make him the complete defensive package.
