Brodersen has helped guide the Bulldogs to unparalleled success over the past eight years, including five Northeast Conference titles, four NCAA tournament appearances and a trip the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2014.

"This opportunity is well earned and well deserved for Casey," said head coach Mike Pressler upon Brodersen's promotion to associate head coach in 2014. "His loyalty to me and the players has been second to none over the last four years."

The Bulldogs featured one of the best face-off specialists in the nation in 2015 in three-time All-American and three-time NEC Player of the Year Kevin Massa. Guided by Brodersen, Massa became the school's first-ever First Team All-America selection in 2014 and left the collegiate ranks in 2015 with an impressive seven NCAA records, including all-time Division I marks for career ground balls, ground balls per game and face-off wins.

Bryant's success at the face-off X continued into 2018, as Kenny Massa ranked second in the nation in ground balls per game and fourth in face-off percentage to earn a USILA All-America nod.

Under Brodersen's tutelage, the Bulldogs' man-down defense has also been a mainstay in the national rankings, spending four-straight seasons ranked in the country's top-10 from 2012-15. Bryant's entire team defense has also enjoyed a top-10 national ranking since the 2012 campaign, and was ranked 13th at the DI circuit in 2016.

"He has enjoyed great success in all areas and in all of his responsibilities since day one, from the faceoff X to the sub game to team defense and man-down defense," Pressler said. "He's also been an outstanding recruiter along the way."

Brodersen arrived in Smithfield after a stint at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., where he served as an assistant coach during the 2009-10 academic year. At Springfield, Brodersen was an offensive assistant, working specifically with the midfield, and managed all faceoff responsibilities for the Pride, coaching the team's starting specialist to a 2010 All-American selection and a Pilgrim League Player of the Year nod. He coached another All-American in the midfield as well, with three of his players earning all-league distinctions.
