Catherine (Katie) Mccrobie
Recruit Profile
Coachable, team player with strong Lax IQ - disciplined, determined and aggressive multi-sport athlete.
I have been playing lacrosse for 6 years and I can still remember why I fell in love with this sport. I played basketball before trying lacrosse which helped me get a good baseline understanding of the sport and it just clicked. I loved learning this sport with all of its rules and new plays, I was a knowledge sponge. I quickly became one of the best players and moved to club lacrosse which just propelled me even more. I was a huge ally in clears and I have a high lax IQ and read the field very well. In my 3rd year of playing lacrosse when I was about 13, I decided to run cross country. It was my first individual sport, I could only rely on myself and it taught me how to learn from my mistakes and keep going. This mindset completely changed my perspective of any other sport I played. I played flag football this year for the first time instead of basketball because I wanted to experience learning something new again. Along with athletic learning, I also love to learn inside the classroom. I have a 3.8 GPA while balancing 3 varsity sports, which has taught me an organized and time-efficient mindset. In my sophomore year, I took 2 APs classes AP World History and AP Psychology. I scored a 5 on the psych exam and a 4 on the world exam. I also am in NSHS to volunteer for and learn about the Hispanic community and culture. I'm in beta club and I have over 30 volunteer hours listed from helping within the community to participating in donation drives.
