Button was named as the interim head coach at Benedictine for the 2019 season.

Button joined the Benedictine staff as an assistant for the 2018 season and helped engineer an impressive five-win turnaround as the team matched the single-season record for wins and returned to the conference tournament. Benedictine averaged over two goals more per game than 2017. The New York native previously served as the offensive coordinator at Mount Ida College, helping lead the team to the conference championship game in 2017.

"I am eager and excited to step up as the head coach at Benedictine," Button said. "Transitioning from assistant coach to head coach, I know what this team needs to focus on in order to be successful this year. Guy (Bourdon) built a great foundation and we will continue to take strides moving forward. I plan to not only shape this group of guys into a great team so that we reach out highest potential on the field, but also drive them to their highest potential off the field."

Button played collegiately at LeMoyne, winning the 2013 national championship, and ranks eighth all-time in program history in scoring. The 2014 graduate scored 32 goals as a senior and finished his career with over 90 goals and 100 points.

Previously, Button assisted at his alma mater, Fairport High School in New York, and helped lead them to a Section V title and state final four. As a player at Fairport, he won a sectional title and finished his senior season as the New York State Runner-Up.

Button also works for True Lacrosse. He is the co-director for the Illinois State team and also a National Team coach. In addition, he coaches Fox Valley and Glen Ellyn youth lacrosse.
