Profile
Chris Fisher joined the Hobart lacrosse coaching staff for the 2023 season. He will be the defensive and goalie coordinator for the Statesmen.

Fisher comes to Hobart with seven seasons of coaching experience across all three NCAA divisions. He spent last season on the coaching staff at St. John’s University, working with the Red Storm’s goalies, defense and faceoff specialists.

In 2021, Fisher was the defensive coordinator at Division II Limestone University. His Saints led the Southern Atlantic Conference and ranked 16th in the nation in scoring defense. During his season in Gaffney, South Carolina, he mentored one All-American and six All-SAC selections.

From 2018 to 2020, Fisher was the volunteer assistant coach at Georgetown University, working with the Hoyas’ faceoff specialists. In each of his first two seasons in the Nation’s Capital, he helped Georgetown win the Big East Championship and earn an invitation to the NCAA tournament. In 2018, Fisher and the rest of the Hoyas coaching staff were recognized as the Big East Coaching Staff of the Year. In 2020, Fisher’s faceoff men were ranked fourth in the nation in winning percentage before the pandemic halted the season after just six games.

Fisher’s collegiate coaching career began as a graduate assistant coach at Wesley College. He was the Wolverines’ defensive coordinator, oversaw student-athlete academic progress and developed the team’s strength and conditioning program. Fisher earned a master’s in sport leadership from Wesley in 2017.

A graduate of St. John’s with a bachelor's degree in sports management, Fisher was a long-stick midfielder for the Red Storm. A two-time Big East All-Academic Team selection, he appeared in 51 career games, amassing 66 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers, and five points (2g, 3a).
