Hawley comes to Florida Tech from NCAA Division I Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he served as a volunteer assistant men's lacrosse coach since August 2021.

At Marquette, Hawley assisted in leading the Golden Eagles to the 2022 Big East Conference Championship Semi-Final. He was responsible for coaching the goalies and assisting with the defense.

Prior to his time at Marquette, Hawley served as assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Virginia Wesleyan University. He was responsible for coaching the goalies, defense, and man-down defense.

Additionally, he was assistant coach of the men’s lacrosse team at Elizabethtown College, where he helped lead the Blue Jays to Landmark Conference championships in 2018 and 2019. He was also a member of the coaching staff that was named Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year in 2018.

Hawley played collegiately at Lynchburg College from 2012 to 2016. In 2015, he was named USILA All-American Honorable Mention, First Team All-Conference in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), and First Team All-State to go along with ODAC All-Tournament Team honors. The Raleigh, North Carolina, native also helped the Hornets to ODAC championships in 2014 and 2015.

Following his collegiate career, Hawley played in the Men's State League for the Subiaco Lacrosse Club, where he was a recipient of the John Keen Trophy and named Defensive MVP in 2017. In July 2017, he also participated in the Maverick Challenge, a tournament between the Australian and Japanese national teams.

The former goalie also presented coaching techniques for goalies to middle school, high school, and collegiate club coaches as an instructor at the US Lacrosse Coaching Clinic in 2017 and 2019.

Hawley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning from Lynchburg College in May 2016.
