He previously served as an assistant lacrosse coach at Lourdes University in 2014 and assistant junior varsity boys basketball coach at North Muskegon High School in 2013. He also coached the Black Swamp Lacrosse Club Under-15 team in Perrysburg, Ohio in 2014.

Scheldt is an operations manager for Miller Welding Supply Company in Grand Rapids.

His wife, Megan, is an assistant coach for the Hope College women's lacrosse team.
