Clay Arnold joined the Castleton men’s lacrosse staff in the fall of 2022 after spending the spring 2022 campaign at Juniata College.

Arnold will work primarily with Castleton’s offense.

Arnold most recently served as interim Head Coach at Juniata; prior to his interim appointment, Arnold served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Eagles.

He began his collegiate coaching career at SUNY Oswego, where he was a volunteer assistant coach for the 2021 season.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Arnold has extensive box lacrosse coaching and playing experience. He is currently a co-owner and general manager of the Salt City Eels of the North American Box Lacrosse League (NABLL). In addition to his administrative duties, he continues to play for the team as a transition player.

Arnold's college playing career began at Division II Chestnut Hill College, before transferring to Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, N.Y. During his time at Onondaga, Arnold helped the Lasers win the 2015 NJCAA National Championship as a midfielder and made the college’s Provost List with a 3.5 grade point average.

In 2017, Arnold took his athletic career to Little East Conference member UMass Boston, where he led the team in goals (34) and points (46), while helping the Beacons to the LEC championship game. Following the 2017 season, Clay was named the NCAA D3 Statistical Champion for the shooting percentage (61.8%).

In 2018, Arnold again led the team in scoring with 37 goals and 63 points as he joined the 100- point club in just his second year at UMB. He was named Second Team All-Little East Conference for his efforts, and concluded his NCAA career as a selection to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Academic Team,

He was then picked up in the Arena Lacrosse League by the Peterborough Timberman but was then traded to his current team, the Six Nation Snipers. He is also rostered in the National Lacrosse Association (NLA) for the Marauders Lacrosse Club.

Arnold finished his undergraduate degree with a B.S. in Exercise and Health Science from the David Falk College of Sports and Human Dynamics of Syracuse University.
