Profile
Dan Moriarty was announced as the fourth head coach in Marian men's lacrosse program history in November of 2022.

"We're excited to have Dan take over the men's lacrosse program," said Draves. "His energy and ability to form relationships with our student-athletes are just what the program needs right now. Congratulations to Dan and I look forward to him working with our student-athletes to elevate the program to new heights."

Moriarty joins the Sabres after spending two seasons at Western Connecticut State, NCAA Division III, where he served as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator. Using an offensive scheme constructed by Moriarty, the Wolves ranked 14th in the country last season for scoring and had three student-athletes record at least 80 points. Western Connecticut State would reach the LEC Championship in 2021 falling to UMass Boston 14-13. Moriarty also aided in the guidance of two student-athletes who went on to earn All-American honors by USILA.

Prior to Western Connecticut State, Moriarty served as the head coach at the University of Southern California, Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) Division I. Moriarty led the Trojans to the first wins over ranked opponents in program history defeating No. 24 Oregon State and No. 14 University of California Santa Barbara. He would also guide the first All-American in program history along with four SLC all-conference honorees. Moriarty helped build the foundation for a USC program that is now consistently ranked inside the top 10 of the nation.

He also had stops at Alderson Broaddus, NCAA Division II, and Southwestern University, NCAA Division III, as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator at both institutions. While with the Pirates, Moriarty's offense ranked in the top 10 of the nation for assists per game, points per game, and shooting percentage. The Alderson Broaddus program had gone 0-27 in the first two seasons of existence but Moriarty was part of a coaching staff that helped lead the Battlers to a 9-19 record in their third season of existence.
