Devon Chipman
Recruit Profile
Coachable, confident and aggressive, good teammate and hardworking.
I began lacrosse in kindergarten and have been playing competitively since 3rd grade. I started playing goalie in the 4th grade for one team and continued to play as a field player until 8th grade when I focused solely on the goalie position. I have a solid lax IQ because I have experience in all positions. I am aggressive and I like to come out of the crease and make interceptions and chases ground balls. I am left-handed and have quick reflexes, which helps in saving offside shots. I am 5 AP and Honors courses and have earned high honor roll freshman and sophomore year.

Devon is an athletic L with a great technical base who is comfortable both relying on her technique but also letting it fly as an athlete. She has great positioning and works well as part of an entire D unit, both in terms of communicating and making plays around the cage and patrolling skip lanes. Vocal and smart. Devon is just a really good goalie who has taken leaps in the past 18 months and is still just beginning to scratch the surface of her potential. Devon will play at the next level and be a leader on and off the field, and I can't recommend her enough!

Devon is a lefty-goalie who has a strong presence in goal not only by her physical-build but the confidence she exhibits in her movements, strong voice, quick-hands and play in-and-out of the crease. As a strong team-leader, Devon uses her lacrosse IQ and communication skills to direct her defense. Devon’s competitive mindset continues to grow along with her confidence & ability to evaluate her performance constantly. She communicates well with her defense & the bond she has developed with them shows in her clears as she can thread a needle to begin a transition; this comes with trust. Devon is composed & fearless in 1v1 situations pulling off strings of saves that kept her team in very competitive games with top 30 ranked teams. She is also comfortable out of the cage as in, because she knows her stick skills are solid, and this is attributed to her focus and continual work she puts in her game.
