In his inaugural year with the Air Force staff, Murray helped the Falcons back to their winning ways in the 2019 campaign. He played an integral role in the Falcons going 10-5 on the season with a 6-1 mark in Southern Conference play, garnering the team’s third regular-season league title in four seasons with the conference.

Prior to joining Air Force, Murray spent four years coaching high school varsity lacrosse. Before his stint as a high school coach, Murray spent four years as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Western Connecticut State University where he helped the Colonials to consecutive winning seasons. Murray led a defense that was ranked in the NCAA Div.-III top-20 in goals against average for three consecutive seasons.

A 1992 graduate of Notre Dame, Murray earned four lacrosse letters with the Fighting Irish, including captaincy in his senior campaign where he earned all-league honors. After graduating from Notre Dame, Murray spent six years in the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence officer, with assignments to RAF Molesworth in UK, Incirlik AB in Turkey and Pope AFB, N.C. His father, Brigadier General (Ret.) Douglas Murray, taught at USAFA for more than 23 years. His brother, Mike, played lacrosse at the Air Force Academy for four seasons before graduating in 1991.

Murray lives in Colorado with his wife, Karen. His daughter, Ashlyn, plays lacrosse at UCLA, while son, Cole, attends Palmer Ridge HS.
