Elizabeth Symonds
Recruit Profile
I am a multi-sport varsity athlete (soccer, squash and lacrosse) at the Westminster School in Connecticut. Academically, I take a mix of AP and Honors classes while supporting a 3.9.
I started on attack but moved to goalie in 5th grade when I was asked to play up for my town team. I learned the foundational aspects of being a goalie from Team USA goalie Liz Hogan. I was coached by current Howard coach Karen Healy-Silcott up until high school. I now play club lacrosse for Wendy Kridel (former Team USA U19 coach) at STEPS California and high school lacrosse for Emily Poelma (former JMU and Jacksonville Goalie).
I started immediately in high school and was named All-NEPSAC (Honorable Mention) in my first season. I was also named to the Maryland Lacrosse Showcase All Star Game (where I squared off against U16 National Team Goalie Betty Nelson).
I have elite handspeed, excellent athleticism and a mentality that is focused on incremental possessions for my team. This means sending double teams, intercepting passes, winning races to the endline and getting critical groundballs.
While I am a multi-sport varsity athlete (soccer, squash), lacrosse is my deal and the crease is my stage.
