Ella Warkentine
Recruit Profile
Coachable player with a strong lax IQ. A runner with great separation speed and endurance, and a hard-working multi sport athlete.
I started lacrosse in second grade, and fell in love with the sport. Unfortunately the lack of a Sophmore year season set me back a bit, but I did get moved up to Varsity Junior year, and our team made it to State Semi-Finals.
My main lacrosse advantages are in my defense, body positioning on the draw, lax IQ and speed. I am also a varsity cross country runner (have been since freshman year), and I almost made it to states with a 19:52.50 (5 seconds off from qualifying) sophomore year. I might not be an immediate standout on the offensive end in lacrosse, but I know how to best assist my teammates, set up plays, and re-defend. I am a coachable player, and will truly work hard.
As for academics, I am a member of National Honors Society and attended Keystone Girls State this summer. I plan to achieve the AP Capstone Diploma by the end of my high school career, which includes taking and passing the AP test for 4 APs in addition to the AP Capstone course. The Capstone program is a two-year course made up of AP Seminar and AP Research. The course encourages students to question everything around them, using inquiry and research to learn the intricacies of problems in the world; from there, students propose, develop and argue their own solution and add their research to the existing field they chose to focus on. I really loved this course, and know it will help me with whatever I specialize in at college and past that. My GPA averages at around 4.67, my SAT is a 1410, and my ACT is a 32.
