Emily Barber was named the head coach of the Hood College women's lacrosse program in the summer of 2021.

The former Emily Barbieri is no stranger to the Blazers, serving as an assistant coach with the program from 2016-19. In her first season, she helped the Blazers to a 37-goal improvement over the previous year and a school-record 38 free position goals. Barber coached three All-Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth selections at Hood. Her teams also set school records for goals, assists and draw controls.

In the spring of 2019, Barber was tasked with restarting the program at Wilson College. In her only season on the sidelines due to COVID-19, she coached the team to the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship Game. The Phoenix ended the year with a 4-5 record, including 3-2 in the CSAC. Three players were chosen to the All-CSAC team and Wilson earned the conference’s 3-D Award, which recognizes the team in each sport that best demonstrates the NCAA Division III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." In addition to her coaching duties, she was the coordinator of campus recreation and intramural sports at Wilson.

Barber serves as the women’s director of the Maryland Lacrosse Showcase and has also worked with Renegades Girls Lacrosse Club as a coach and recruiting coordinator.

She completed her playing career at Division I Monmouth University. A four-year starter, she tallied 38 goals, 44 assists and 82 points as a member of the Hawks' attack. She also served as a team captain and was a member of Monmouth's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Barber graduated from Monmouth in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and later earned her master’s in business administration at Hood in 2018.
