Emma Dixon
Recruit Profile
I have a strong love for the game of lacrosse and enjoy the competitive and supportive team environment, allowing me to improve my skills.
I take pride in my stick work as I control the ball well. I attack the cage and move into space. I am a low attacker who can catch and give feeds confidently and able to score for my team. I also have great vision on the field and can move the ball quickly and efficiently.
I feel that having a great Lax IQ can help me read the field, anticipate my teammates cuts, and make great feeds. This past high school lacrosse season has shown me just how important a great team aspect really is. My varsity high school team won the IAAM A Conference Championship and we are currently ranked #1 nationally. Many of my teammates are D1 recruits, recruited by University of Southern California, Johns Hopkins, James Madison, Duke, Georgetown, Temple, and several other schools. Although I obtained an injury early in the season, being on the sidelines helped me learn so much, seeing the game from a different perspective and increasing my lacrosse IQ. I took pride in cheering for every single player on the field and contributing to the team. The championship was won through all the players on the roster and that win has helped me understand what makes a great team. It also confirmed my love for the game because I missed being on the field so much.
I am very athletic and have played in the following sports throughout high school: volleyball, tennis, swim team and lacrosse. I enjoy the competitive environment and team atmosphere that sports provide and look forward to having that throughout my college years.
I also give back to the community through several clubs and nonprofits. During my freshman and sophomore years, I served as a member of our schools Green Key club, which provides tours and shadow opportunities to prospective students. For the past three years, I have volunteered for Santas Anonymous Helpers; wrapping presents and delivering food on Christmas Eve to underserved families. I recently was selected to be an ambassador for our schools One Love club. Recently, I started volunteering for Special Olympics and playing Unified Tennis and Basketball. All of these activities provide opportunities to grow my leadership skills while giving back.

Audrey Byrd
Emma's comfort level with her stick is one of the first things you will notice in her game. She is very fluent in her cradling, often baiting defenders to go for the check. She has a great read on her defenders, understanding the pressure they apply and how to use that to her advantage. She is able to change levels on her shots and uses her height to her advantage by constantly placing herself inside the 8M and scoring overtop of defenders. Emma is always learning and smiling and a pleasure to coach.
Kara Hogan
Emma is hardworking, creative and a student of the game. When Emma is not at practice or studying she is in her backyard working her stickwork, shooting, dodging and more. A few of Emma’s strengths include her fluid stickwork, level changes, & ability to dodge & redodge.
Emily Brownawell
Emma is always one of the hardest workers on the team when it comes to putting time in outside of practice. Her stickwork and continued effort to challenge herself is something to be admired. The work she puts in both helps her and pushes her teammates to be their best.
