Recruit Profile
Tenacious multi-sport athlete. Leader on and off the field. Coachable team player with strong field sense. Quick and agile. Thrives on competition. Focused and determined student.

I was introduced to lacrosse late in elementary school when my friend invited me to a free clinic. Although I began to enjoy the game at that time, I continued to play competitive soccer and basketball, putting lacrosse on hold, until the summer of my freshman year in high school. Playing competitively in multiple sports has taught me how moves and techniques successfully translate between soccer, basketball and lacrosse. I have also enjoyed different hobbies such as horseback riding and snowboarding which add strength and balance to my lacrosse repertoire.

Over the last 2 years, I have been coaching at a youth lacrosse program which has been very rewarding. Not only have I been able to teach young girls about the game of lacrosse and grow the sport, but I have learned how to dissect skills in order to fine tune the small details for others and myself.

Throughout my life, I have always found myself attracted to animals and creating a difference in people's lives through the healing an animal can have on a person. In recent years I have been privileged to volunteer at various organizations like The Shea Riding Center which utilizes a team of over 30 horses providing therapy to children with various disabilities helping them regain strength, balance and a sense of joy. Similarly, it has been an honor to serve at Saddles in Service in San Diego which brings horses to the rescue of our military and first responders suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have implemented the lessons learned from these incredible people into my personal and athletic life.

Being involved in sports has helped me grow both as an athlete but also has made me a more well-rounded, capable person. I plan to continue growing as a student, teammate and leader for the rest of my high school career and beyond. School wise, I aim to study animal science at a 4-year university hoping to create a career for myself in training horses and other animals to make a positive difference in peoples lives.

Emma seeks excellence all over the field. Having coached Emma in team play and on an individual basis, I've witnessed firsthand her hunger to constantly improve. As a taller player, Emma focuses relentlessly on quick feet and small steps to stay on the body defensively. In the midfield, Emma keeps her eyes up looking for the smart pass. She has also trained a variety of release and catch points to be able to handle the ball in transition. On offense, Emma loves using her face and split moves in take defenders down! More recently, Emma wanted to take her game to the next level knowing collegiate lacrosse was now a possibility for her. She showed up for spring training 2021 with a renewed effort to challenge her comfort level and master side arm shot. She had to struggle and fail a lot before she started making progress. Emma never gave up. She continues to train the next level skills to be ready to one day play at the next level.
