Ethan Thomson has been named Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Brevard College Men's Lacrosse program, announced Head Coach Darry Thornton.

Thomson comes to Brevard with coaching experience on both the collegiate and high school levels, to go along with a playing career under Coach Thornton.

Thomson was the Head Lacrosse Coach to go along with duties as Adjunct Professor and Assistant Operations Manager from 2016 – 2018 at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, New York. He followed that experience with a year coaching lacrosse at Walter M. Williams High School in Burlington, North Carolina. In addition to his coaching experience, Thomson has worked in the fitness industry as both a fitness trainer and a manager at Planet Fitness.

Thomson began his collegiate playing career as a two-sport student-athlete at Mohawk Valley Community College competing in lacrosse and soccer. In 2012 as a member of the Hawks, he earned a spot at the Region III Lacrosse All-Star game. He concluded his collegiate career at Lees-McRae as a defenseman, playing in 28 games on the NCAA Division II level. While at Lees-McRae, Thomson also gained valuable experience in athletic administration by serving as Compliance and Sports Information Assistant in the Department of Athletics.

A native of Clinton, New York, Thomson earned a Bachelor's of Science in Sports Administration from Lees-McRae College and is currently pursuing a Master's in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
