I am a junior at Rye Country Day School (RCDS) in Rye, New York where I play varsity lacrosse, ice hockey, and field hockey. At RCDS, I am a three year varsity defensive starter in both lacrosse and field hockey and I skate on the first forward line for our varsity ice hockey team. I am also a defensive starter for my club team, Team 91 Tri State, and was selected to play on the Team 91 National 2024 team. I am an aggressive defender and I am very vocal with my teammates. I always appreciate my coaches' input into how to improve my game and I work hard to implement their suggestions. I put in the work, on and off the field, to be the best player I can be. I was proud to be a captain of my field hockey team this year and even prouder to have been re-elected for next year. I really enjoyed the additional challenge of helping to lead my team. I am taking a full load of rigorous courses, including AP Biology, AP US History, High Honors English, Honors Spanish, Advanced Pre-Calculous. I am proud to have earned a 3.97 GPA through my sophomore year and four As and an A- in the first quarter of my junior year. Outside of school, I am focused on helping to alleviate food insecurity in communities near me. Last summer I grew organic vegetables to provide weekly harvests to the Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force (LMHTF), a local food bank. I also spent some time over the summer volunteering for LMHTF and another organization in Manhattan working to deliver fresh produce to families in need. I am the co-leader and co-founder of a club at RCDS that works to raise awareness, funds, and volunteers for LMHTF. I also volunteer as a mentor for middle school girls and for a group helping to improve English literacy among elementary school children in a neighboring community. I am hoping to major in biology, possibly with a minor or concentration in environmental studies, at a liberal arts college with strong academics and a great lacrosse program.
