Griffin Scane
Recruit Profile
Try to make the right, smart play, extra pass. Do the small things to help the team. Aggressive on both ends. Good scorer but try to do all things well.
I started playing lacrosse very young after watching my brother and sister. My entire family plays. My brother is a senior midfielder at Robert Morris, my sister is a sophomore attack at Northwestern, and my younger brother also plays at home. My parents do a lot of driving.Growing up, our family was always together traveling and playing lacrosse, and when we're home, we're usually playing lacrosse in the back yard. After seeing what a great time my brother and sister are having playing in college, I really want to work hard and do the same thing. I played my freshman year at Brother Rice High School in Michigan, then Coach Posner asked me to come to Culver. I was really excited for the challenge of not only the lacrosse, but the military lifestyle. I can already tell how much it helps me with organizing, discipline and learning to be a good leader. Depending on what my coaches have wanted me to do, I've played both attack and middie. I have confidence going to goal and scoring, but also think I'm good at doing the small things on the field to help my team. Ground balls, causing turnovers and looking to pass when I should. The coaches that use me at middie say they want me out there on offense and D, but the coaches that play me at attack say they want me to stay on the field. I've even played long pole if my teams needs one. I really try to play the game the right way. I like scoring, but never have to be the guy going to goal all the time. I've played for many different coaches and feel like I can adapt to play however and wherever they want me to. I grew up wrestling and I think that has helped me be really aggressive and physical and taught me good balance.
In the summers, I've played for both True National and Sweetlax National teams. I've been invited to Maverik Showtime for the last 2 years and have made the all-star team both times. It was an awesome experience playing with all those great players.
I'm not sure what I want to study in college, but I think I would like to own my own business one day. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to play in college and get a business degree. Thank you
