Profile
Guy Van Arsdale, a veteran coach and former NCAA Player of the Year, will enter his first year as head men's lacrosse coach at Colby College in the 2016-17.

Most recently at Division 1 Jacksonville University, Van Arsdale has also been head coach at Colorado College and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) at the Division III level, and coached professionally with the Rochester Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse.

"Guy is a fantastic hire for Colby and our men's lacrosse program. After a nationwide search, we are excited to bring a leader of great character and experience to Mayflower Hill," said Tim Wheaton, Colby's Harold Alfond Director of Athletics. "Guy has been successful at virtually every level of the game. He is a proven recruiter and has had success on both sides of the ball."

Van Arsdale, who starts at Colby in July, also had assistant coaching stints at University of Notre Dame and Penn State University.

"I'm incredibly honored that Tim, Provost (Lori) Kletzer, and President (David) Greene have put their faith in me," Van Arsdale said. "My wife, Julia, and I are excited to be part of the Colby community and also the Waterville community."

Van Arsdale, a 1984 Hobart College graduate, was at Jacksonville for five seasons from August 2011 to May 2016, helping the Dolphins to a regular season co-championship in 2013 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
