Over 40 years ago, Hal Rosenberg took over the leadership of the fledging University of Wisconsin lacrosse team as a player coach with the slogan “Lacrosse is not just a city in Wisconsin – Play Lacrosse!” Hal has always been willing to do whatever it takes to spread the game of lacrosse to anyone willing to pick up a stick. Hal hosted countless MALA meetings, learn to play clinics, camps, was a founder and is the commissioner of the Great Lakes Lacrosse League. Starting with 9 teams in 2004 the GLLL has grown to 43 teams in 7 states, including three UW teams and 16 other club teams throughout the state of Wisconsin.
