Hope Leinen

2020 | MI: South Lyon

Recruit Profile
Natural athlete, speed, quickness, and determined player. Extremely dedicated. High LAX IQ. Coachable unselfish team player that can play anywhere

I am a junior at South Lyon High School in South Lyon, Michigan. Multi-sport athlete who plays lacrosse and soccer. As a freshman, I was one of only 2 players selected to the South Lyon varsity lacrosse team freshman year. Led the varsity team in assist, takeaways, and was second on the team in ground balls and draw controls. Top 5 in scoring.

I started playing lacrosse in the winter of 2013, and have been playing lacrosse ever since. I initially got started in lacrosse because of one of my friends. After a few years developing my skills on my local club team, Pumas, my friend brought me over to Triumph. My team on Triumph has not only given me a higher lax IQ, it has given me a second family. The girls I play with are some of my closest friends. That is what I strive for at any school I potentially go to. As I started to develop new advanced lacrosse skills and compete against the best players within my age group I really began to develop a deep passion and love for the sport of Lacrosse. Therefore, in the summer of 2016, I decided to make lacrosse my primary focus.

I am a defensive midfielder with an extremely high lax IQ. Defensively, I am a lockdown defender that often has the responsibility of marking up the best players from the opposing teams. Offensively, I see the field extremely well and am known for making great decisions. I want the ball when the game is on the line, and my team trusts me in those situations. Last season, I averaged 1.8 goals, 3.7 assists, 4.6 ground balls (Ground Ball Machine), and 67% draw control per game. I am always around the ball.

I am an excellent student who has an “A” average. I'm extremely committed to my education. Additionally, I am on Student Council and am involved with my school's Key Club. Key Club is an organization that is focused on volunteering around town. I am a driven student who strives to push myself in the classroom. I took my first AP class as a sophomore, and received a 4 on the AP exam. As a junior, I am taking 2 more AP classes.
