Mike Squillante
Ian is an athletic, aggressive, defender who pushes the ball in transition. As a natural lefty, he is consistently taking the ball away from our opponents top offensive threat. When we give Ian an area of his game to improve or changes that we would like to see, he has a smile on his face and gets right to work. This attitude is contagious and has helped him evolve into a great leader. Although Ian is one of our top True NJ 2024 defenders, I know he is only scratching the surface of where he will end up--I think his best seasons are ahead of him.
Alex Danon
Ian is a very good athlete. He is fast, strong, and tough for his age. He works hard in the weight room as well as on the field and in the classroom. I brought him up to varsity at the conclusion of his JV season during his freshman year. Due to school COVID rules I could not bring him up early in the season or I would have. He immediately took over as a starter on close defense and played LSM when he wasn't down low. In our most important games of the season he started and played exceptionally well for us, helping us win our Section Championship. Ian is a bit of an old school defender in that he is a take away defender. He throws checks, takes the ball away and pushes transition with his speed and stick skills. He has an above average lacrosse IQ for his age. This year he will be a matchup guy for us, covering the opponents best player. So that means he will play some LSM and some close defense. I anticipate big things from him as we continues to get bigger and stronger. He has D1 and work ethic to match.
Jordan Taylor
High lacrosse IQ, great fundamentals/stick work, fast athlete with upper level endurance. Hard working individual, always trying to improve and learn to be the best player he can be. Puts forth deliberate and maximum effort in practice and in games. Fearless and relentless on ball defender. Wonderful young man.
