JD graduated from Mitchell (Ct.) College with a bachelor's of science in sports management and was a four-year member of the men's lacrosse program. He was a starter at the goalkeeper position and earned Rookie of the Year honors and was a three-time selection as Goalkeeper of the Year in the conference. He was a first team all-conference selection and three-year captain. He set the school record with 773 saves in his career. Previous coaching experience including Goalkeeper Coach for the Westchester Warriors Summer Club team.
