Jack Vipond
Recruit Profile
I am a determined 2019 midfielder (face-off specialist) who works hard both on and off the field to overcome obstacles
Having dyslexia, I learned at an early age that good things come, not to those who wait, but to those who are willing to work for their success. Over time, I realized that if I applied the same amount of effort that I was putting towards school and matched it on the lacrosse field, I would have a shot at playing lacrosse at the highest levels.
I joined my first travel team, TRUE MN, two summers ago where I found I loved playing against tougher competition and traveling to regional tournaments in the Midwest. And I started a weight training program called TRUE FIT.
In 2017 I made Team Minnesota, where I traveled out East for the first time.
In the meantime, I am starting to look at colleges, where I hope to major in business, finance or a related field and play lacrosse at the varsity level.
While I love the idea of going to school out west (Washington, California, Colorado), I recognize that the sport has not reached the same level of varsity popularity that it enjoys in the East, or even in the Midwest, so I am open to any location at this point. Schools with strong academic service supports are of special interest to me so I can access help as I adjust to a college curriculum.
