Jake Dale has exceptional fundamental skills. In addition to his skills, he fills the cage at 6'1" and 240 lbs. His hand and foot speed in the goal is exceptional. Jake demonstrates an economy of movement that is rare at this stage of goaltender development. There is no wasted movement. He makes the most difficult and complex saves look effortless. His growing knowledge of the fundamentals of his position and relation to team concepts is rapid. He has a high intellect. He works to excel and takes the save processes in stride, indicating a great mental agility. This is rare in early season as most goalies see a tremendous number of shots - and they go in - during preseason. His only consistent vulnerability is offside hip when the shot comes from extreme stickside angle. He's intensely competitive with himself and seeks to master his craft. He asks for feedback and adjusts as necessary. He will collaborate on what works for him or not.
