My name is Jaylin Locke, I am a Junior at Ridgewood High School in New Jersey during the 2020-2021 school year. I have played lacrosse competitively over the past 11 years, both on travel, club and recreational teams. I am primarily a starting defender for the Ridgewood High School Maroons (high school team), while being shifted to all positions on Mad Dog Lacrosse (club team) along with Mad Dog National Team. My goal is to continue to put in extra work to improve my skills in lacrosse in season as well as off season, and continue to contribute to both my high school and club team's success. I pride myself with my great speed and ability to capitalize on playing aggressive defense and creating turnovers which gives myself and my teammates the opportunity to score points on the other side of the field. I am also very impressive with my man-on-man defense as well as my strong hedging and checking skills. I am a motivated student that has an interest in English, philosophy, business and language. I participate in a business club called DECA for my school along with the Students for Social Injustice club and the Girl Up Club. I am excited to continue my education at a college or university while also competing as student-athlete to take on challenges everyday. I have a strong suit in writing, and take honors, advanced, and AP courses in all subjects. This year I am a regular starter for both my high school and club teams, I also participated in a number of invite only prospect camps this summer and fall. I volunteer at the Ridgewood New Jersey School house museum and coach lacrosse teams for elementary school students in my town.
