Jemma Peterkin
Recruit Profile
Hardworking both on the field and in the classroom. Very coachable and love being part of a team. I am an aggressive multi-sport athlete with a strong lax IQ.
I began playing lacrosse 4 years ago and immediately fell in love with the game. From the start, I chose to play midfield considering my passion for running and sprinting both short and long distances. I am also comfortable playing defense. Although I am a righty, I am equally as comfortable using my left hand to feed, dodge, shoot, etc. I take pride in my ability to drive to goal 1 on 1 as well as defend an iso drive. It has always been a dream of mine to continue my lacrosse career at a collegiate level. In addition to lacrosse, I play soccer for Wilton High School. Fall of freshman year I made the JV team. We had an amazing season only having lost 2 games. Sophomore year I was elected co-captain of the JV team. I find doing things collectively (as a team) in life to be just as important as being independent.
Academics are a priority to me. Freshman year I ended with an unweighted 4.0 GPA and made High Honor Roll both semesters. Sophomore year I took 2 honors classes, maintaining my position as a High Honors student with a 3.9 GPA. As a junior I will be taking Honors Spanish, Honors English, and AP US History. My favorite subjects include Spanish and Science.
In and out of class I enjoy helping others with their assignments and studies. Some other interests of mine include art, fashion, and especially traveling, as I lived in Singapore for 5 years. At Wilton High School, I participate in the UNICEF club to raise money for and awareness about worldwide crises; additionally, I am a part of Top Inclusion Models in which I am able to mentor younger students regarding the significance of inclusion and kindness. Alongside my academics, I spend time volunteering for charities such as "filling in the blanks" and the youth girls Rising Stars camp held by Gold Coast Lacrosse.
Unfortunately, I did not have a freshman year season of high school lacrosse due to COVID. This year, however, I am now on Wilton girls Varsity lacrosse team. Overall, I am driven to succeed on and off the field always putting in my greatest effort.

Jemma is a fabulous individual both on and off the lacrosse field. Her determination and heart are what sets her apart from other middies across all 3 areas of the field. Her strongest attributes on the field are: wicked fast feet, kills it on draw circle, strong stick; dependable with attacking and defending both directions of the ball; reliable teammate who picks the girls up when they have a poor shot placement, bad pass, etc.; Midfielder for Wilton HS varsity, got national ranking (#25) this past season. Her drive to succeed are what make her a rewarding player to coach. She has grown exponentially both at Gold Coast and Wilton - would recommend her for any program looking for a fierce midfielder who's not afraid to take smart, calculated risks with the ball and defend her 8' like crazy! -Coach Alison alison@goldcoastlax.com
