Jeremiah Pease was named the Maine Maritime Academy’s Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach and Student-Athlete Affairs Coordinator.

He brings the unique prespective of being an alumni of The Academy and wealth of coaching and administrative experience at the high school level.

A native of Bucksport, Pease graduated from The Academy in 2000 with a degree in Marine Engineering, and shipped with Marine Engineers (MEBA) until 2005 as a third assistant engineer.

Pease came ashore and began a career in teaching and coaching with a focus on mathematics in the classroom. He has been an assistant coach in boy’s lacrosse, basketball and football. He served as Matanzas High School’s Head Varsity Tennis Coach from 2008 to 2021 and Head Boy’s Golf Coach from 2009 to 2018. He has also served as the Assistant Athletic Director, heavily engaged in external relations.

Pease will assist in all phases of the game as the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach with an emphasis on the Mariners offense. The Mariners did not compete in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. As the Student-Athlete Affairs Coordinator, Pease will have oversight of the academic success of Maine Maritime Academy’s student-athletes, who have posted a 3.0-term and 3.0 cumulative-average grade point average over the last nine semesters. Half of the department’s athletes appeared on the Dean’s List in eight of those nine semesters.
