Heading into the 2023/2024 season, Coach Austin prepares for his six season as head coach of the Adams State Lacrosse program, as he continues to rebuild the program.

During his 2nd year at the helm in 2020, Austin hoped to build off of the 2019 RMAC Tournament appearance. Unfortunately, it was out his hands as the season was canceled after only 2 weeks into competition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his first season in 2019, Austin led his Grizzlies to the RMAC Tournament. He had three players receive All-RMAC 1st Team honors with four more receiving 2nd Team or Honorable Mention.

Before taking over at Adams State, Austin served as the head recruiter and defensive assistant for the University of Nevada Las Vegas Club Lacrosse team. The team finished 3-7 last season with wins against Nevada and UCLA in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association.

Additionally, Austin was the coach for the Centennial High School team since 2014, a team that was ranked sixth in the state of Nevada this season and seventh last season. In 2014 his team went 11-6 and were the top-ranked team in the state, winning the state championship with a 16-13 win against Faith Lutheran.

Austin also served as a coach for the Las Vegas Starz travelling team, helping develop college bound talent in the Western United States.

Austin's son, Jacob, was a freshman for the Grizzlies last season. He was tied for fifth on the team with 11 goals and had the second-most assists with six.
