Jonny is a throwback, two way midfielder with very solid stick skills, a nose for gb's and solid athleticism. In particular, this fall Jonny excelled coming off the wing on draws, in transition and on defense. Off the wing, Jonny is tenacious on ground balls tends to outwork anyone lined up beside him on the wing. He always comes off the line hard ready to fight for a 50/50 GB and often comes out the other side in possession of the it. In transition, Jonny is a smart player. He does a good job of pushing the tempo or slowing it down when necessary. He is almost always a scoring threat in transition with or without the ball, as he understands space and sees cutting lanes and soft spots very well. Defensively, Jonny is solid both one on one and within a team defense. While he may not be the most physical guy on the field, Jonny's athleticism and IQ are what make him stout defensively.
