Recruit Profile
My best assets don't show up on a highlight-reel. It is my hands/feet + my off-ball work and defensive positioning: I'm a disciplined technician who plays lax like chess.

I am doing a PG year at Avon Old Farms in 2024 under Coaches Kyle Jackson/Skip Flanagan following my matriculation from The Hopkins School. I have spent the last year training/gaining strength to compete at the next level of lacrosse. Even though I'm bigger, I'm not quite the traditional Bezerker D-Pole; more like Ninja-Pole as my strengths are my hands/feet which has allowed me to excel at taking the ball away and run transition-perfect for the Modern Game. I am Close D-LSM by trade, but my versatility as allowed me to play SSDM, Offensive Mid, Attack. I am a 2-time All FAA Conference selection, Honorable Mention for All New England Preparatory Schools (NEPSAC), 3-sport captain and an Academic All American for Water Polo as well as Boys Swimming. Thank you for your time.

Relevant Lacrosse Accolades:
I was selected as the Top-Defenseman at the 2021-Austin Pifani/Apex Defenseman Showcase. In the write up from Pifani: "Wu plays a textbook style of defense...it showed all over the field...and is very effective. Getting low in his stance and riding opponent's hips...very effective at knocking offensive players off their line. He plays angles extremely well...one of his strengths is dominating GLE. Wu does an excellent job of combining a top-hand punch with bringing his foot around to force would be dodgers back towards X. His high lax IQ was on display...he was making...collegiate level hedges and slides, filling in half spots to eat up space. Wu is everything you ask for...reliable defender who can lock down just anyone". I was also selected by US Club Lax/Apex for the Power 20 Online Showcase in 2021. I received a video review as well as a write up: "Kaelin has some amazing checks and they arenot just slap checks. Wu can deliver a good poke and lift to dislodge the ball for a sweet turnover. Love the way Wu moves his feet to and away from the ball. Great positioning when playing close defense...should have a big 2021"

Kaelin is a technically sound defenseman with great feet and an excellent stick. He is a ground ball machine and sees much time on the faceoff wing. His vertical range makes him dangerous in the clear and able to play fast middies from the top as well as attackmen under GLE. Very respectful and coachable sophomore with great character and self-discipline.
