The Minnesota native has been involved with the sport for over a decade and wasted no time making an imprint on the world of D-III women's lacrosse.

Since joining the Midwest Womens Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) in 2017, the Hamline Pipers has been named MWLC Tournament Champions earning the AQ to the NCAA touranemtn in 2017, 2018, 2019, & 2021. Heggernes has been named the leagues Coach of the Year four times.

So far at Hamline, Heggernes has coached 13 All-MWLC First Team players, including four conference Players of the Year. She has also had three players earn IWLCA All-Region honors. Academically, a record-setting 14 players were recognized on the MWLC All-Academic Team in 2019.
